1.2 OBJECTIVES
the objectives of the event are:
to determine the champion and the winner pilots;
to stimulate the development of aerostation by an international comparison of performance of pilots and aerostats;
to reinforce friendship amongst aeronauts of all nations.
1.3 EVENT DETAILS
1.3.1 Name of the event: Hungarian Hot Air Balloon Championship and Pécs Festival Cup 2007
1.3.1.1 The Events will run from 26th - 30th September 2007.
The last flying day will be 29th September evening, unless the minimum tasks under rule III. 1.2.2 have not been achieved in which case the last flying day will be 30th September morning.
1.3.1.2 Event will be held at Pécs and in the surroundings of the town.
1.3.2 The observers will NOT participate on Event and organisers will use the AXMER GPS version 2007.

1.3.4 Suitability of location for the event
Pécs is located at the South side of the Mecsek mountain in the Carpathian Basin; at latitude 460 North and longitude 180 25' East. Pécs is a county center with lot of villages around. The terrain is hilly and mountainous with good road network and many places for landings.
The contest area is approximately 40x40 km. The North-center of the contest area is Pécs City. The main launch field will be centre of the contest area where is the Sport Airfield of Pécs-Pogány (LHPP) with hard runway. The Competition Center will be on the Sport Airfield too.
There are a lot of different kind of hotels in Pécs but the Organizers offer free accommodation for pilots, crews, officials and observers. Social event facilities will be in the Competition Center and many other possibilities in the town.

1.3.6 Airspace restrictions
Pécs - Pogány airport (LHPP) with hard surface runway. The highest altitude in Hungary is 4000 feet AMSL.
1.3.7 Landowner restrictions, if any

1.3.8 Insurance requirements
Each balloon shall be insured against all claims by third parties to the minimum stipulated in the EU Directive (785/2004/EU). Competitors flying crew or passengers must have passenger liability coverage of 250.000 SDR per passenger. The competitor shall produce documentary evidence of this insurance valid for the period of the Event covering any balloon which he may fly.

1.3.9 Proposed entry fee and what it includes
The entry fee is 200 EUR including VAT and 100 EUR deposit fee. The entry fee includes: accommodation for three persons and light breakfast and dinner during the event from evening of 27th September to 01st October morning, LPG from after the first competition flight and two sets of competition map and some gifts will be provided by the Organizers. All competitors and their crew are invited the Opening Ceremony on 26th September, Good-Bye party and Awards Ceremony on 29th September. The organiser pay back the deposit fee the end of the Event if the competitors will give back all things requested thing for the Organisers. The Organisers shall not return the entry fees at any case.
1.3.10 Statement of eligibility of NACs
The Event is open to all NACs which have met their obligations to the FAI. The foreign pilot will score in 2nd Pécs Festival Cup only.
1.3.11 Number of pilots invited:
Maximum 50 competitor invited. 15-25 foreign competitors and 20-30 Hungarian competitors will be invited.
Issuing further invitation and official entry forms: 25th April 2007.
Closing Date to receive the entry form and remittance of entry fee: 31st July 2007.
1.3.12 Headquarters facilities available
The Competition Center will be on the MÁV Educational Center where all infrastructure are available.
1.3.13 Provisions offered for Officials
Executive competition officials are invited from several countries. Officials will be offered accommodation during the event and meals and some gifts. They will be invited to all social events.
1.3.145 Arrangements offered for Pilots and Crews.
The pilot + 2 crews will receive free accommodation, light breakfast, dinner, maps, some gifts and tickets to all social events, propane from after the first competition flight. They must bring propane to first flight by own or they can buy it from the organizers. The organizers are not paying travel allowance for the teams.
1.3.15 Details of planned Social events.
26st September Opening Ceremony - dinner and non-alcoholic beverages
29th September Good-Bye Party and Awards Ceremony - dinner, beverages, shows and dance.
1.3.16 Requested tools
All competitors shall use min. 720 channels workable airband radio and they have to monitoring LHPP's frequency during all flights. This item may check by the organisers at the check-in procedure.
1.3.17 Suggested tools
All competitors should to use GPS which provides track information usable for scoring (position, altitude and time). In case of unusable track logs, the officials may ask the competitor to provide any GPS equipment he may have to substitute the missing track information.
